Wilbert Edam used the moon as a reference when planting or harvesting. He cold accuratelly tell time by looking at the sun. As a child, Wilbert contacted rheumatic fever. This illness eventurlly resulted in his demise, after a long and debilitating illness. In the presence of his wife, Tillie , and all seven of theri children, pllus his brother, George - Wilbert Benjamin Edam peacefully died on Thursday, March 3-, 1961. Ella, George, Alice and Mamie were present for the funeral service held in Saint Philomena Catholic church in Sidney, Montana (before Saint Matthew Cathoic Church relace it. ) The two-story house Wilbert built in the nineteen-twnties has been moved to a new location, near the hightway between Sidney and Crane, Montna, where it continues to be a family home.
